History

This landrace originates from South Eastern tip of Africa, in the port city of Durban.  Many say it was cannabis activist Ed Rosenthal who  procured the seeds that brought the cultivar to the United States in the early 70’s.  Durban Poison is also known for its above normal levels of THCV, a compound that has been scientifically proven to assist with appetite supression, diabetes, panic attacks, alzhiemers and bone growth.
